Authentic Success: No Substitutions for Loving & Being You
I can remember as a small child what it felt like to see superstars on television and to impersonate them, or even wonder what it would be like to be them. However, now that I am older and I see so many childhood stars that don’t look so super, I often have to wonder what happened and why do they not look like the characters they so often portrayed? Well, the answer has become quite simple for me to understand now, and that is that when we don’t know who we are our identity and success will fall prey to false facades and substitutions.
The problem with facades is that you have to remember who you were on any given day, and they are not authentic. Facades are temporary moments of satiety that fill us quickly and then leave us wanting more. It is so much easier to come to know your authentic self and not settle for the substitutions. Authentic self-love, acceptance, and empowerment are matters of the heart. Take the time that is needed to cultivate your heart so that you can believe what your heart says about YOU!
Submit to a process of surrender to a greater power beyond you. Our vision becomes tainted and blurred when we see what we want and what we desire, but have not endured a real process submission, of pulling back the layers of false facades and voided places to come to know what it feels like to love ourselves from a place of authenticity, and what it really means to be who we were created and destined to be. How can we do this?
- Allow God to search us and know our hearts, “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” He is the greatest investigator to get to the root of our issues.
- Revelation. Do an internal gut check to have those things revealed unto us that are debris that are clogging our mindset and our hearts. Filters need changing or they just recycle staleness. Reveal & Refreshing is a must to an authentic success.
3. Honesty & Transparency. What we don’t acknowledge we will continue to ignore and shield. Above all else be honest and transparent with YOU. Don’t let this be new news from your critics. At some point we must put down our mask and take center stage to our true selves.
4. Ask for God’s lead and guidance. When I don’t have my GPS on I have the tendency to circle the same route. God’s lead will never fail us, as it is a journey that we can trust…the creator knows His created and his love for us is genuine and authentic. No SUBSTITUTIONS.
